Safety leadership
Merit’s full time Safety Director, Rebecca Phillips, leads our company wide safety program and supports every project team in the field. She oversees training, develops and enforces standards, and makes regular unannounced site visits to verify that expectations are being met and that crews have the protection they need to work safely and productively.
Safety at Merit is a daily discipline. From who we hire to how we plan and supervise work, our processes are designed to protect people, keep sites organized, and support reliable schedules.
Our safety program has been honored multiple times with the AGC Construction Safety Excellence Award in Tennessee, reflecting consistent, long term performance on our projects.
A full time Safety Director, supported by safety skilled supervisors, oversees training, compliance, and unannounced site visits to verify that standards are followed on every job.
Pre-construction orientations and weekly safety briefings for all workers focus on current site conditions, job hazard analysis, and upcoming critical tasks.
We carefully qualify trade partners on safety history and use resources from the AGC East Tennessee Chapter to keep our practices current and aligned with industry best standards.
Mill Springs Lodge provides Bluegreen Vacations with a modern, lodge-style addition to the Laurel Crest Resort that enhances both capacity and guest experience.
This project includes the construction of a 1,000-seat cathedral and the renovation of the original church into a meeting center, supported by a new campus infrastructure featuring a road, bridge, and master-planned parking.
A modern six-story concrete facility with 900 workstations and standout amenities, including a half-court gym, saunas, cold plunge pools, terraces, and a rooftop putting green.
Selected for its superior management and competitive proposal, Merit Construction completed the award-winning, 2,100-student Hardin Valley Academy in 2008, featuring a two-story atrium, a 695-seat auditorium, and comprehensive fine arts and athletic facilities.
