The renovation of the Transition Care Unit at Blount Memorial involved the complete demolition of an area on the fourth floor of the main hospital building. This project was challenging because the Transition Care Unit is located immediately above the hospital's intensive care unit. All walls, electrical, mechanical and plumbing comprising the existing floor plan were demolished, removed and replaced. All work was completed while the hospital remained open.
