Cedar Bluff Elementary School (Knoxville, TN)

The Cedar Bluff Elementary School project consisted of a two-story educational wing, media center and a major portion of administrative offices.  After its completion, primary school students in kindergarten through second grade were moved in.  The primary school was demolished to make way for phase two, which included the kindergarten through first grade wing, gym and cafeteria. Third-and fourth-graders from the intermediate school were moved in August 2008.  Original plans envisioned a 1,000-student school to be completed in two phases.  So school officials added a third phase to Cedar Bluff, completed in the spring of 2009, and that created eight more classrooms and expanded capacity to 1,200 students.  Fifth-graders who had been in the intermediate school moved into the new school.

“The professionalism exhibited in the management of this project and the quality of work provided is second to none.  They have done everything in their power to assure that Knox County Schools was able to continue with the education of our students with as little interruption as possible.”                                                                 ~ Doug Dillingham, Supervisor                      Knox County Schools                              Facilities and New Construction Department
